The building and its unique location will play a big role in the success of Station South. Opened as Levenshulme Station in 1892 (later changing its name to Levenshulme South in 1952) and serving the Manchester central line until 1957. It has local historical significance and great future potential.
The original Levenshulme station, a handsome red brick with mock-Tudor styling, it sits on a prominent position on the A6, Stockport Road in Levenshulme. Currently it’s in a poor state of repair and needs extensive restoration to return it to its former Victorian splendour.
