Please let Anna or Sumayra know before the session if you don’t want to be contacted.\n>> Sessions are for those aged 16+ \n>> We will supply a bike and helmet for you\, but you can bring your own if you’d prefer \n>> There will be other participants on the course who are also there to learn to ride a bike \n>> If weather is adverse\, please check your inbox the morning of the session as we may cancel if it’s really horrible \nFriendly notice! If for any reason your circumstances change and you can no longer join us\, please cancel your slot on EventBrite [this is a single click through your ticket confirmation email] with as much notice as possible and we can give your space to someone else. The size of the groups are extremely limited and although free to you [woohoo!] they come with cost and planning on our part and we love to see all places being enjoyed to their full potential. Thank you.

SUMMARY:Picnic Club: Live Americana Music
DESCRIPTION:The evening kicks off at 7.30pm with a set from our hosts Picnic Area. The Stockport-based band combine influences of country music\, 60s pop and punk attitude to produce a unique sound of their own.\n\nKev Shutt (Kevin Shufflebottom) was a former member of one of Manchester’s most melodic bands\, Corporal Jones\, and contributed greatly to their repertoire. Since the Covid lockdown he has been a prolific in his songwriting; album releases have included the Wilcoesque “Spinning yarns” and the more new-wave influenced “Mysterious fishhook” which brings back memories of The Vapors and XTC. Kev can also turn his hand to low-key reflective acoustic songs and this gig will showcase his eclectic songwriting.\n\nAndrew Butler and John McKay are basically two thirds of Dr Butler’s Hatstand Medicine Band\, a very well established and entertaining live act. They have an eclectic approach to Americana\, so their set could potentially include blues\, ragtime\, western swing\, folk and country material.\n\nWoski are mystics from the hills of Mossley who combine Sparklehorse-style Americana with out-and-out psychedelia. Sadly the band’s percussionist/ father figure Jon aka Wiz Mossley passed away 3 years ago\, but the band have defiantly continued to perform\, with a wonderfully epic live sound.\n\nPicnic Club at Station South\, 975-977 Stockport Road\, Levenshulme M19 3NP\, on Wednesday 2nd July 2025. Long-running acoustic/ Americana showcase\, now at its new location in Levenshulme\, 7.30pm\, adm free. The artistes: Woski\, Andrew Butler and John McKay\, Kev Shutt and Picnic Area. Admission is free but this is a WE SHALL OVERCOME event and we ask you to bring groceries for the Levenshulme Foodbanks please if you can. Please note: children are allowed if accompanied by an adult.
