SUMMARY:Tour de Femmes | Women's Road Ride + Social
DESCRIPTION:𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗲𝘀! \n🇫🇷🚲☀️🇫🇷🚲☀️🇫🇷🚲☀️🇫🇷🚲☀️ \nThe women’s tour promises to be an exciting one this year so we’re calling all women + no-binary of the pink crew to join us to celebrate! \nThe pros will be on their second stage on the Sunday\, but it’s a flat stage\, so we’ll do something more akin to their first stage. They’ll be tackling 79km with a mixture of flat then 3 climbs\, we’ll be doing something similar but condensed into 66km\, starting with Cheshire flats before three lumpier sections\, climbing up the Côte d’Artistes (/Artists Lane) to the Wizard near Alderley Edge\, before a steady climb from Prestbury to Bollington. \nA short sharp climb for the puncheurs follows up the Mur de Sucre (Sugar Lane) out of Bollington\, then we’re onto rolling terrain near Poynton for the peleton to get back together before the final sprint train down the A6. Unfortunately\, traffic lights might stop any race winning moves\, but we’ll end up back at Station South for the post-ride interviews (or just some coffee and cake) \nDistance: 66km / 41 miles \nRoute : [CLICK]  \nElevation: 530m / 1740ft \nPace: Cappuccino – 24-26kph / 15-16mph. We’ll move quite speedily on the flat and rolling sections of the route and regroup at the top of the climbs \nType: Group road ride \nStop: we won’t stop for food or drink until we get back to Station South\, so make sure you’re prepped with enough snacks and water \nSign up : Via EventBrite [CLICK]  \n+++ \n

SUMMARY:2nd Hand Bike Sales: Reddish Men In Sheds
DESCRIPTION:Reddish Men in Sheds is a group of (mainly) older men who meet to service and repair donated bicycles. We sell these refurbished bicycles to the community via a Reddish charity shop (Re:Dish) or direct sales such as this ‘pop-up’ market at Station South. \nThey are sold at modest prices to ensure that as many people as possible can access cycling regardless of income. We also donate bikes via our ‘Bike Giveaway’ scheme to community groups/ schools and bike libraries to serve populations facing financial or social disadvantage. \nWe prevent a lot of old bikes from sitting unloved\, unused and rusting; bikes that may otherwise go to waste or landfill. \nCome and see what we have – all types of bikes for all ages and budgets!

SUMMARY:Tour de France Watch Party | Stage 12 - Auch - Hautacam
DESCRIPTION:𝗟𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻! \n🇫🇷🚲☀️🇫🇷🚲☀️🇫🇷🚲☀️🇫🇷🚲☀️ \n[Sort of] \nWe’re showing some key stages of the most celebrated bike race in the world\, right on our sunshine [☀️🤞 ] terrace here at Station South! \nSee below for the timetable of our screened stages. We are adding layers of cycling joy by hosting themed Club rides to celebrate some of the stages as they unravel before collapsing back to base in time to watch the racing! Note – no ride for this stage\, but check out some of the others! \n180.6km\, 3850m of elevation and a summit finish. \nHopefully by now the lumpy (but not mountainous) route will leave the race finely poised. \nJoin us at Station South from 1pm to watch the stage LIVE for one of our TDF Watch Parties. \nExpected finish 16.30-17.00. \nWith a coffee or a beer\, join us as they tackle first the 1st Cat Col du Soulor\, followed by the 2nd Cat Col des Borderes before the long\, 13.6km grind to Hautacam. A HC climb\, with an average of 7.8%\, this is a sweltering climb where the tour can crunch out-of-reach. 1996\, Miguel Indurain watched a record 6th tour inch away from him as the bald top of EPO-riddled Bjarne Rijs blinded him in the sun. In 2000\, Armstrong\, EPO-riddled\, showed Ullrich that just EPO\, whether Fuente Pop or Ferrari Soda\, it didn’t matter\, Ullrich needed to lose weight\, as the wind and rain did for the stoic East German. 2022 saw Vingegaard and Van Aert bury a confused Pogacar as the Green Jersey towed the Yellow to the line and the White foundered. Basically this climb’s a big deal. \nSack off work\, it’s Summer\, it’s the Tour. Thurs Hills after tackles our own mountain.

The route and distance will skirt the Blue / Pink border and offer a slightly more challenging ride for Blues or a more chilled one for Pinks. \n> Group Leader : Kirsty \n> Meet : 5.50pm for a 6pm departure \n> Suitable for: Cyclists confident with the route and distance advertised. \n> Distance / Terrain : 30km | 232m of climbing |Mainly off road\, not too bumpy! \n> Route : [CLICK] \nThis route is trike and non-standard bike friendly\, please drop us a line if your bike fits that description so we can double check the suitability 🙂 \nBlue | Tickle the Sun with Bee Pedal Ready\nJoin our great friend Bee and her crew from Bee Pedal Ready for a super chilled\, super chatty and super smiley cycling cruise into the sunset.

Please let Anna or Sumayra know before the session if you don’t want to be contacted.\n>> Sessions are for those aged 16+ \n>> We will supply a bike and helmet for you\, but you can bring your own if you’d prefer \n>> There will be other participants on the course who are also there to learn to ride a bike \n>> If weather is adverse\, please check your inbox the morning of the session as we may cancel if it’s really horrible \nFriendly notice! If for any reason your circumstances change and you can no longer join us\, please cancel your slot on EventBrite [this is a single click through your ticket confirmation email] with as much notice as possible and we can give your space to someone else. The size of the groups are extremely limited and although free to you [woohoo!] they come with cost and planning on our part and we love to see all places being enjoyed to their full potential. Thank you.
