DESCRIPTION:Weekly Friendly Gravel Rides : a.k.a Whacky Wednesdays\nEach week\, we head out to find another cool off-road trail\, tunnel\, bridge or canal path as a group.\nWhacky Wednesdays are casual\, friendly and less technical than our longer weekend gravel rides. We’re usually out for around 2-3 hours and almost always head back to Station South for social drinks after [this is optional of course!]. \n[Meet] >>  Station South Bike Benches \n[When] >>  5.50pm for a 6pm departure \n[Suitable for] >> Confident cyclists* used to riding with a group\, in proximity to water\, on loose gravel and for the time and distance advertised. \n[Bike required] >>  MTB\, gravel\, touring. \n[What to bring] >>  Helmet\, water\, snacks\, clothes for the weather\, spare tube\, front + rear lights \n[Sign Ups] >>  All sign ups and detailed information for our various rides and cycling events are organised through Spond\, which is a platform we use solely for our ‘Pink’ rides. Pink events listed on the website are to hook more people in\, but please make sure you sign up via Spond to join in with these rides. Check out the colour definitions below if you’re new to Station South Cycling Club. \n* If this doesn’t sound like your cycling ability\, make sure to check out our other rides – we have Blue [chilled\, distance] or Yellow [learn\, progress\, play]. DESCRIPTION:BOOK TICKETS HERE \nCome join designer/maker Julia Roy-Williams at Station South\, Levenshulme\, for an evening workshop to create your own mirror art! \nThis hands-on workshop allows participants to work with laser cut mirrored perspex pieces to create their own bespoke designs\, with full guidance from Julia. \nAll materials will be provided and you’ll leave with a finished piece of wall mountable artwork that you’ve made. \nJulia will also share insights into her creative practice\, offering a behind-the-scenes look at her studio\, processes and techniques. She’ll discuss her inspirations\, creative journey\, and how she incorporates Bauhaus principles into her design work. \nA curated selection of WONDERHAUS jewellery will also be available for purchase during the events\, with discounts for all workshop participants. \n19:30-21:30pm \n\nstation south

DESCRIPTION:Join The Manchester Stammtisch for a lively movie night. ‘Fack ju Göhte’ is a comedy that follows an ex-convict who lands a position at a school that sits over the spot where money from one of his earlier robberies was stashed. For this movie it’s recommended to have relatively good command of the German language (subtitles just don’t work). \nThe movie uses German youth language- mostly vulgar expressions and a certain pronunciation that simply can’t be translated. \nYou have been warned! DESCRIPTION:Come and join Jot Book Club at Station South\, Levenshulme. \nMeet and talk with other readers in an informal\, loosely structured setting about your impressions\, feelings\, interpretations\, associations\, pleasures and pains of reading our chosen book. \nEveryone welcome! \nIn January\, Jot Book Club will be reading Mr Outside (Prototype\, 2025)\, by Caleb Klaces. \nPurchase of the book via www.jotbookshop.com or the regular Jot pop-up shop outside Station South (Sunday 30th Nov\, 14th Dec\, 20th Dec\, 11th Jan\, 10-4pm) will secure you a place in the club on a first come first served basis. \nParticipants will be emailed with further information before each session. \nThe Book: \nDuring a time of restricted movement\, the narrator of Mr Outside visits his reclusive father Thomas who is packing up to move into a care home. As father and son grapple with the task\, long-buried conflicts resurface. Thomas\, a poet and former radical priest\, slips between affection and fear\, while the narrator struggles to find the words he’s been holding back. Yet amidst confusion and grief\, moments of humour and connection emerge\, as both men discover new ways to listen. \nTold through a striking combination of text and image\, Klaces’ distilled novel explores the stories we tell about our lives\, intimacy in crisis\, and the fragile line between reality and delusion. Based on the life of his own father\, Mr Outside is poignant\, profound\, and unexpectedly funny; a tender meditation on endings\, the limits of understanding\, and the act of letting go. \n‘I can’t remember the last time a book moved me to tears\, but Mr Outside did so more than once.
