DESCRIPTION:Long-running acoustic/ Americana showcase\, now at its new location in Levenshulme\, 7.30pm\, adm free. The artistes: Phil Volcanoes Quinn\, Emma Ellis\, Wired Woods\, and Picnic Area. Admission is free but this is a WE SHALL OVERCOME event and we ask you to bring groceries for the Levenshulme Foodbanks please if you can. Please note: children are allowed if accompanied by an adult. \nThe evening kicks off at 7.30pm with a set from our hosts Picnic Area. The Stockport-based band combine influences of country music\, 60s pop and punk attitude to produce a unique sound of their own. \nWired Woods is the latest project for Phil Johnson\, who was a songwriting member of one of Manchester’s great “lost” bands\, Corporal Jones. Phil will be playing in a duo lineup with bandmate Andy. Their music is acoustic-based\, emotional and epic; nothing online as yet but you can hear Phil’s earlier solo material HERE. \nEmma Ellis started out making dance music\, some of which was released on Ministry of Sound compilations. She then reinvented herself as an acoustic blues/ soul singer-songwriter\, who has been compared to the likes of Janis Joplin\, and possesses one of the most amazing voices you’re ever likely to hear. \nPhil Quinn is probably best known as the charismatic frontman and main songwriter of the acclaimed band Little Volcanoes. These days as a solo artist he continues to write powerful\, instantly memorable pop classics with a distinctly 80s influence. He will have a new album out imminently; in the meantime you can hear his previous album HERE.

DESCRIPTION:Join Station South Cycling Club’s Pink crew for a classic Sunday road ride out into the countryside…\nSunday Classic rides start at 9am from Station South every Sunday. \nWe ride together aiming for an average pace of 24-26kph on the flat. DESCRIPTION:Neurowavy Monthly Meet-up \nAn informal meet-up for neurodivergent (wavy) folks \nWhen? \nThird Wednesday of every month. \nDrop in 7-9pm\nNo need to book\, just turn up! \nWho are we? \nWe are Timna (33) and Lauren (39). We connected after being diagnosed with ADHD and immediately saw the value in spending time with other like-minded (wavy) folk who just get it. \nWe wanted to make sure everybody had access to a safe space where they could truly be themselves\, something that didn’t seem to exist locally. \nIn June 2023 we established Neurowavy as a community for neurodivergent folks\, offering a monthly meet-up and ad-hoc events. \nWhat to expect? \nPut simply\, it’s an opportunity to spend a little time with some like-minded folk in a no-pressure setting. Super friendly\, super informal\, super relaxed. DESCRIPTION:Join Station South Cycling Club’s Pink crew for a classic Sunday road ride out into the countryside…\nSunday Classic rides start at 9am from Station South every Sunday. \nWe ride together aiming for an average pace of 24-26kph on the flat. DESCRIPTION:Solo exhibition of paintings\, drawings and prints by locally based artists Kevin Pocock. \nThe exhibition is called ‘The Architecture Of Nature’ and it focuses landscape and natural environment work as seen through the eyes of Kevin with a unique view of the ever evolving world around us. \nOriginally from Wimborne in East Dorset\, in the UK\, he has been living in Manchester now for many years. He studied architecture at Cambridge University and have exhibited widely in the UK and abroad in the USA\, Germany\, Italy and Australia. Kevin was also included in the 2012 John Moores Painting Prize at the Walker Art Gallery\, Liverpool.
