DESCRIPTION:Join Station South Cycling Club’s Pink crew for a classic Sunday road ride out into the countryside…\nSunday Classic rides start at 9am from Station South every Sunday. \nWe ride together aiming for an average pace of 24-26kph on the flat. We take hills at our own pace and regroup at the top. \nThe routes are led by different group leaders each week and are around ~70 km with 500m climbing\, each time celebrating a cool new route. \nAt the advertised pace and with a cafe stop it should take 3-4 hours. \nRides are mixed gender and no-one gets left behind. \n[Sign Ups] >>  All sign ups and detailed information for our various rides and cycling events are organised through Spond\, which is a platform we use solely for our ‘Pink’ rides. DESCRIPTION:7:00 – 20:00 Film Screening: Saving our Wild Isles \n20:00 – 21:00 Call to action Workshop: Valuing urban biodiversity along the Fallowfield Loop. \nSpring will soon be with us and so what better time to come together as a community and support biodiversity in your neighbourhood. \nFriends of the Fallowfield Loop and Station South are hosting a free event on 19th February where we will screen David Attenborough’s Saving our Wild Isles documentary (50 minutes). In this special documentary commissioned by the RSPB\, WWF and the National Trust\, we hear the real stories of passionate people who are trying to restore biodiversity to the British Isles. The film is a call to action for all of us to value nature and support its recovery in whatever way we can. \nFollowing the film\, we will come together to talk about the state of nature on our doorstep. We will present some of the work we have been carrying out along the Fallowfield Loop to support biodiversity and discuss opportunities for getting involved in future volunteering\, from bramble bashing to measuring the carbon stocks of trees along the Fallowfield Loop. Finally\, we would like to hear what you are doing to support biodiversity in your local area so that we can all learn from each other.

DESCRIPTION:Neurowavy Monthly Meet-up \nAn informal meet-up for neurodivergent (wavy) folks \nWhen? \nThird Wednesday of every month. \nDrop in 7-9pm\nNo need to book\, just turn up! \nWho are we? \nWe are Timna (33) and Lauren (39). We connected after being diagnosed with ADHD and immediately saw the value in spending time with other like-minded (wavy) folk who just get it. \nWe wanted to make sure everybody had access to a safe space where they could truly be themselves\, something that didn’t seem to exist locally. \nIn June 2023 we established Neurowavy as a community for neurodivergent folks\, offering a monthly meet-up and ad-hoc events. \nWhat to expect? \nPut simply\, it’s an opportunity to spend a little time with some like-minded folk in a no-pressure setting. Super friendly\, super informal\, super relaxed. Please note: children are allowed if accompanied by an adult. \nThe Reedcutters\, fronted by J.P. Slidewell\, are a well established and exciting live band. They play a raw bluesy version of Americana\, combined with a melodicism that is often reminiscent of The Replacements and the Paisley Underground scene of the mid-80s. They have released a number of recordings and received enthusiastic reviews from the likes of Blues Matters. https://www.thereedcutters.co.uk/ \nAlt country renegades Picnic Area are the hosts of this long standing musical evening. They have already released 3 studio albums which have received very enthusiastic reviews from the likes of Americana UK. Their most recent album\, 2018’s “No country for young men”\, was largely an emotionally intense reflection on the social and political upheaval of the times.
