This pre-workshop cycle is the perfect way to get your creative gears turning and enjoy some fresh air before diving into the world of words. We’ll set off at 5:00 PM and cycle at a leisurely pace following the off road Fallowfield Loop Cycle Path. Perfect for cyclists who don’t yet feel comfortable cycling alongside cars.\n \nFallowfield Loop – Points of Interest – Google My Maps\n\nFollowing our ride\, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM\, we’ll gather for an engaging creative writing workshop. Facilitator Ella Otomewo will provide you with prompts and guidance to inspire writing on cycling\, the outdoors and eco-politics. All participants will be invited to submit their work to our upcoming audio anthology Saddle Stories. SUMMARY:2nd Hand Bike Sales: Reddish Men In Sheds
DESCRIPTION:Reddish Men in Sheds is a group of (mainly) older men who meet to service and repair donated bicycles. We sell these refurbished bicycles to the community via a Reddish charity shop (Re:Dish) or direct sales such as this ‘pop-up’ market at Station South. \nThey are sold at modest prices to ensure that as many people as possible can access cycling regardless of income. We also donate bikes via our ‘Bike Giveaway’ scheme to community groups/ schools and bike libraries to serve populations facing financial or social disadvantage. \nWe prevent a lot of old bikes from sitting unloved\, unused and rusting; bikes that may otherwise go to waste or landfill. \nCome and see what we have – all types of bikes for all ages and budgets!

DESCRIPTION:𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗲𝘀! \n🇫🇷🚲☀️🇫🇷🚲☀️🇫🇷🚲☀️🇫🇷🚲☀️ \nThe women’s tour promises to be an exciting one this year so we’re calling all women + no-binary of the pink crew to join us to celebrate! \nThe pros will be on their second stage on the Sunday\, but it’s a flat stage\, so we’ll do something more akin to their first stage. They’ll be tackling 79km with a mixture of flat then 3 climbs\, we’ll be doing something similar but condensed into 66km\, starting with Cheshire flats before three lumpier sections\, climbing up the Côte d’Artistes (/Artists Lane) to the Wizard near Alderley Edge\, before a steady climb from Prestbury to Bollington. \nA short sharp climb for the puncheurs follows up the Mur de Sucre (Sugar Lane) out of Bollington\, then we’re onto rolling terrain near Poynton for the peleton to get back together before the final sprint train down the A6. Unfortunately\, traffic lights might stop any race winning moves\, but we’ll end up back at Station South for the post-ride interviews (or just some coffee and cake) \nDistance: 66km / 41 miles \nRoute : [CLICK]  \nElevation: 530m / 1740ft \nPace: Cappuccino – 24-26kph / 15-16mph. DESCRIPTION:Weekly Hilly Road Rides : a.k.a Thursday Hills\nEach week\, we head out to find another cool climb to endure\, enjoy\, envelop and embrace.\nThursday Hills are a friendly way to explore the local elevation challenges\, with a different climb each week. \nWe’re usually out for around 2-3 hours and almost always head back to Station South for social drinks after [this is optional of course!]. Then this is the drop-in workshop for you!\nJoin us on the Station South terrace for some relaxed bikey spring cleaning using our workstands\, tools and products. Mechanics will be on hand to answer any questions and help you wake up your bikes ahead of a fun summer of cycling..\nDrop-in workshop includes : \n> Chain cleaning station \n> Chain measuring + health check \n> Chain lubing \n> Tyre pressure checks + track pumps at the ready \n> M-Checks [working through all the different components] \n>Bike questions with the expert! Is there a squeak that unsettling\, or a tweak you’re in need of some assistance with – we can help you. \n>Overall bike health checks \nFriendly Notice! This is a drop-in workshop\, with the idea that people work on their own bikes with the guidance and support of our mechanics. Basic tweaks and upkeep is the name of the game\, please don’t expect big fixes or bikes that are in a really bad way to be reinvigorated in these sessions! \nThis is a drop-in session\, so please arrive early to avoid disappointment. DESCRIPTION:Adults who have just learnt to cycle – or those thinking about returning to cycling : join us for a very gentle and short bike ride along the Fallowfield Loop.\nWe have bikes\, a trike* + helmets available to borrow for your first steps into group cycling.\nMeet : 9.45am @ The Station South ‘Walk + Bike’ container to get set up with your bike [if required] \nDepart : 10am \nDistance / speed / notes : We will cycle along the Fallowfield Loop for about 15 /20 minutes before making our return journey back to Station South for well deserved brews or soft drinks\, on us! \nPlease note – riders need to be able to start\, pedal\, stop and control the bike to join this ride. DESCRIPTION:Neurowavy Monthly Meet-up \nAn informal meet-up for neurodivergent (wavy) folks \nWhen? \nThird Wednesday of every month. \nDrop in 7-9pm\nNo need to book\, just turn up! \nWho are we? \nWe are Timna (33) and Lauren (39). We connected after being diagnosed with ADHD and immediately saw the value in spending time with other like-minded (wavy) folk who just get it. \nWe wanted to make sure everybody had access to a safe space where they could truly be themselves\, something that didn’t seem to exist locally. \nIn June 2023 we established Neurowavy as a community for neurodivergent folks\, offering a monthly meet-up and ad-hoc events. \nWhat to expect? \nPut simply\, it’s an opportunity to spend a little time with some like-minded folk in a no-pressure setting. Super friendly\, super informal\, super relaxed. Explore the local cycle paths and green spaces on one of our bikes.\nHere’s how to reserve your ride for the morning : \n1] Head on over to the booking form link here. \n2] Once arriving at the form\, enter your details and select your bike. \n3] In the drop down options\, select ‘Bike Library’ which is the free of charge option. \n4] Additionally\, book a free ticket through EventBrite so we can register how many people are coming \n5] Pop into the Bike Station to collect your bike* \n+++++\n>> *Mechanics will need to get equipment from our container outside\, so please bare with the mechanics if they are with a customer. Where possible\, we will try to have your bike ready in the Bike Station ahead of your reservation. \n>> Any questions\, please drop Anna a note : community@stationsouth.co.uk \n>> Please note – this is independent cycling and not a led ride. \n>> If the conditions are icy\, the session will be cancelled \n>> Please note\, you can only reserve 1 x bike per booking\, so if you’re with friends\, please ask them to go through the same process. \n>> To borrow the bikes\, we require photo I.D and proof of address

Begin your biking journey…\nJoin Station South and learn how to cycle – or boost your confidence if you’re new or returning back to cycling.\nWe have a small fleet of bikes\, helmet and a trike available to use for the sessions.\nWhen : Wednesday mornings on multiple dates throughout May\, June\, July\, September + October [book a ticket for each session you would like to attend] \nTime : 10-10.30am and 10.30-11am* \nWhere : Cringle Park 5-a-side football pitch [next to the children’s play area] \n*feel free to book onto both time slots\, although beginners often feel that 30 minutes is long enough when they’re just getting started! \n[BOOKING LINK : CLICK] \n+++++++++++++++\nAnna and Sumayra\, [qualified and super friendly insturctors] will support you through the following: \n>> Introduction to the bike and helmet \n>> Getting on and off the bike \n>> Beginning to scoot on the bike and learning how to brake \n>> Learning to use the pedals \n>> Making the bike go where you want it to [in a large open space] \nFor those who can already ride and would like to progress skills for road training or to boost confidence\, we can also deliver Level 1 of the Bikeability course. \nBoth options are 100% off road and contained within our safe space in the park 🙂 \n+++++++++++++++\n>> This is a Big Bike Revival event for Station South kindly insured and funded by Cycling UK who ask for consent to contact you after the event to ask you a few questions about your cycling habits. Please let Anna or Sumayra know before the session if you don’t want to be contacted.\n>> Sessions are for those aged 16+ \n>> We will supply a bike and helmet for you\, but you can bring your own if you’d prefer \n>> There will be other participants on the course who are also there to learn to ride a bike \n>> If weather is adverse\, please check your inbox the morning of the session as we may cancel if it’s really horrible \nFriendly notice!
