Jot is a brand new Manchester-based pop-up bookshop & journal run by avid readers and book lovers Laura and Swen. The shop offers a carefully selected assemblage of contemporary fiction, poetry and essay from predominantly independent publishers and presses, as well as works that gently and brilliantly challenge the boundaries of forms and genres.
A children’s section playfully named The Department of Clouds and Yogurts contains new and second-hand books by a number of lesser known authors and illustrators. Jot’s playfully designed website and DIY pop-up displays project the aura of a friendly, cosy, well-stocked independent book shop in miniature.
The project wants to bring together and grow a community of readers in South Manchester and beyond, before aiming to offer a number of literary events in the future.
