COMMUNITY CYCLING
We want to connect people with cycling and work across the community to get people involved from every walk of life.
Our mission to promote active travel spans cycling, walking, workshops, events and exhibitions with a particular focus on cycling. We run a huge variety of activities including teaching adults to cycle, hosting maintenance workshops, organising group rides for every level, community bike events, bike library sessions and more!
Meet our Community Manager: Amazing Anna
Anna’s our incredible community manager, working across all that we do with cycling and our wider volunteer programs. With over 20 years of experience working in the community, Anna’s background spans community arts and cycling, bringing together the things she loves the most: pedals, people and creativity!
A qualified Cycling Instructor, Ride Leader, and City + Guilds trained mechanic, you’re in good with hands with Anna.
SSCC - Station South Cycling Club
Is this Manchester’s friendliest cycling club? We think so! With three separate mini-clubs to suit all abilities, we’re a welcoming and inclusive collective of bike lovers. Join us for rides ranging from family pootles up to paced, distance rides.
Bikes for Everyone
We believe that everyone should have access to a bicycle – here at Station South we have a range of ways to offer out our bikes to borrow for free : whether it be for a planned group ride, adult cycle training sessions or our public monthly Bike Library sessions on the last Friday of every month.
Station South in Schools
Whether it be bike trains and litter picks before school, disco bike rides over to Station South or whole school engagement activities – we absolutely adore working with the next generation of cyclists! If your school would like to discuss a custom project, please drop Anna a line : community@stationsouth.co.uk
Fixing in the Community
We think the key to sustainable cycling is to empower people to learn how to fix their own bikes : from the basics – all the way up to more advanced mechanics. We run workshops of every breed which appeal to different styles of learning – from casual drop ins, to 1:1 bike clinics in the workshop, to maintenance masterclasses and progressive courses. Always for free + often with brews and bikey giveaways in the mix.
Mass Rides
We partner up with the wonders at Bee Pedal Ready twice a year to organise large scale mass participation rides to celebrate and empower more women to cycle – especially throughout winter : with our epic ‘Lights Up’ rides. All riders welcome along. Join us in November for the next ‘Rides for Women’ event.
Learn to Ride with Station South
Whether you’ve never sat on a bicycle saddle before, struggling with confidence or returning back to cycling after a break – we are here for you! Throughout the spring, summer + autumn we run friendly, casual adult cycle training sessions in Cringle Park. We supply the equipment + epically friendly instructors – you supply the desire to cycle!
