The Reedcutters, fronted by J.P. Slidewell, are a well established and exciting live band. They play a raw bluesy version of Americana, combined with a melodicism that is often reminiscent of The Replacements and the Paisley Underground scene of the mid-80s. They have released a number of recordings and received enthusiastic reviews from the likes of Blues Matters. https://www.thereedcutters.co.uk/
Alt country renegades Picnic Area are the hosts of this long standing musical evening. They have already released 3 studio albums which have received very enthusiastic reviews from the likes of Americana UK. Their most recent album, 2018’s “No country for young men”, was largely an emotionally intense reflection on the social and political upheaval of the times. Never content to stand still musically, the Picnics are currently working on a new album which will be at least partly comprised of “escapist powerpop”! https://www.reverbnation.com/picnicarea
Rog Hildreth’s previous outfit The Vanity Pages were one of the more interesting bands on the Manchester music scene a few years back, combining the feel of early New York punk with the pastoral ambience of Love’s “Forever changes”. Rog was the singer and main songwriter of the band, and he is likely to play some of their songs along with new material. This is VANITY PAGES
