Happy Fe[brr]uary from The Bike Station!

We hope that you are finding your way into 2026 nicely and although we are fully amidst the ‘dregs of winter’ now, we like to think there’s sniffs of spring with slightly elongated days and surfacing of much welcome snow drops on our rides!

This month we are leaping with joy at some really exciting events on the approach that we have been busy programming together, but first let’s enjoy a couple of pics from both on and off the saddle from our Yellow, Blue and Pink riders of the cycling club.

A local primary school come for an explore on the FLoop + a visit to the Bike Station!

Some of our Yellow riders in an in-depth bike maintenance course on our ‘closed to the public’ Monday

One of our amazing Pink riders tackles the final Cyclo Cross of the season – in the sunshine!

Some of our Blue riders battling the February chills and enjoying a socially paced 40km ride together

Cycle Fest 2026 | The Theme Launches…

The teasers for CF26 continue! The plans are coming together, and at this early stage we are plotting:

  • A live, large-scale collaborative artwork created on the day with a local street artist
  • Organised rides for all ages and abilities, from fast-paced distance routes to cultural rides exploring Manchester’s landmarks and creative neighbourhoods
  • A full festival atmosphere back at Station South featuring local DJs, artists, workshops, BMX exhibition and hands-on bike sessions
  • Expanded arts and music programming celebrating Manchester’s creative communities

All events are free. All are welcome. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist, part of Manchester’s youth scene, or simply curious, Cycle Fest invites the city to ride, create and connect.

Word from the Workshop

Welcoming our amazing and lovely new mechanic Dave, who will work alongside the magnificent Mary in the workshop. Watch this space for an array of fix up workshops of different varieties as we roll towards Spring – from clinics, casual drop-ins and more in depth masterclasses to empower y’all to keep your bikes healthy and wheels rotating.

A quick heads up from mechanic Mary “Happy February everyone. Watch this space, because over the next couple of weeks Dave and I will be having a sale of some of our stock. We’re talking tools, bags and panniers and some other goodies.”

See you next time, cycle safe 🙂

Regards from Anna + the Bike Station team ♡
